Barrington residents living along sidewalks have more to shovel than just their driveways.
A local ordinance mandates that all those with property abutting a sidewalk must clear the walkway 6 p.m. following the day of the snow fall.
Residents must also remove any snow covering a fire hydrant.
Failing to comply with the ordinance can result in up to a $50 fine.
