The Eagles jump on MVP goaltender Andrew Galbraith after winning the championship 2-0 over Burrillville.

Barrington defeated Burrillville 2-0 in a decisive game three, winning the Division I Interscholastic League state championship series 2-1, at Brown’s Meehan Auditorium on Sunday.  Senior goaltender Andrew Galbraith was named tournament MVP after recording a shutout. Junior Brett Fay scored Barrington’s first goal assisted by Derek Carlson and Joey Lombardi. Barrington freshman Mike Lombardi scored the Eagles other goal in the second period.

    For as long as hockey has been played in RI, Burrillville has always been a tough team to beat.

    The Barrington players were coming back from a 7-2 loss, and it took focus and heart to pull off a final shutout victory.

    The players and coaching staff have a lot to be proud of.
