A 22-year-old East Providence man raised a stir at the Atria Bay Spring Village senior housing facility on Sunday morning, Feb. 16.
Police received a call at about 6:30 a.m. that day alerting them to a young man who was trying to enter the facility, which is located at 147 Bay Spring Ave. By the time officers arrived on scene, the East Providence man was seated in a chair in the building’s foyer; a manager at Atria was questioning him about why he was at the facility.
Police said the man refused to answer the manager’s questions. They added that the East Providence resident appeared disheveled and confused and had injured his knee.
Officers interviewed the subject who said he had only entered the foyer of Atria. Police said the man did not appear to be intoxicated and refused medical treatment for the knee injury.
Police issued the man a no-trespassing order and later agreed to drive the man back to Riverside. He reportedly thanked the officers for the ride.
