While short, North Trail allows access to views of upper Hundred Acre Cove that are unparalleled.
Troop IV is one of three Boy Scout troops in town and has been active for over 60 years.
Troop IV camps 10 months a year in addition to high adventure trips for older scouts. Recent trips include a climb up into six inches of fresh snow at Greenleaf Hut on the shoulder of Mt. Lafayette in Franconia Notch and a canoe trip through the Great Swamp on the Chipuxet River in Kingstown, the historic location of the Great Swamp Massacre during King Phillips War in 1675.
Boy Scouting presents a terrific opportunity for boys aged 11-18 to experience the outdoors while developing self-confidence and critical leadership skills. Troop IV takes great pride in being a boy-led troop with adult oversight. Troop IV meets every Monday when there is school at the White Church, 7-8:30 PM. Interested boys and parents are welcome to stop by at any meeting or contact Scoutmaster Tom Bledsoe at 246-2194
