Thirteen Barrington residents will participate in the 35th annual Pan-Mass Challenge on Aug. 2 and 3. The event is the largest single athletic fund-raising event in the country.

The Barrington riders are Garrett Ames, David Cambria, Steve Cohan, Sara Donohue, Jason Graveline, Michael Hoyt, Michael Marra, Stephen Martel, Doug Mayhew, Chris McDermott, Christopher Patton, Bob Powers and Newell Thomas.

The Pan-Mass Challenge runs through 46 towns across Massachusetts — riders can choose between two-day routes that range from 132 to 190 miles or one-day routes that range from 25 to 111 miles.

The collective goal for this year’s event is to raise $40 million to support adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund.
