A Laurel Lane resident was awoken early Sunday morning, Oct. 13, by a knock at the front door. Outside stood a woman from Bristol who was completely unaware of how she got there.
According to police, the Barrington resident heard a knock at his front door at about 4:20 a.m. and upon answering the door found a young woman who was shivering and cold. The resident brought the woman into the house and called police.
Officers responded to the home and asked the woman how she had gotten to Barrington. The 18-year-old reportedly told police that the last thing she could remember was leaving work at the Subway Restaurant in Warren at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The next thing she knew she was on the front lawn of the Hampden Meadows home and was feeling very cold.
Police said the woman’s purse had been found in Warren on Saturday; it was also reported that the individual may have been drinking before she turned up in Barrington.
Police called for an ambulance which later transported the Bristol woman to a hospital for treatment. Officials were also trying to contact the woman’s sister.
