The image — taken inside the County Road Dunkin Donuts on Friday, March 22 at 1:34 p.m. — shows a white man wearing a gray sweatshirt standing at the counter. The man, possibly in his late 20s, has short dark hair and a stocky build. His sweatshirt reads “Dale Jr. 88.”
Just 26 minutes after the image was taken, someone matching that description broke into a Wood Avenue home, which is located a few hundred feet west of the County Road Dunkin Donuts.
The Wood Avenue homeowner arrived at her house and found the man standing inside her kitchen. When the intruder saw the woman, he reportedly said, “Sorry, wrong house,” and bolted out the door.
Barrington Police Chief John LaCross said officers flooded the area looking for the suspect, but could not find him. Police then reviewed a series of surveillance cameras located in nearby businesses and located the image of the man matching the description.
“He met the description of the individual, and here he is coming into this establishment, which is walking distance to target’s house,” said Chief LaCross. “Right now he looks like the suspect that’s been described by the victim.”
Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the man shown in the surveillance footage should call the Barrington Police Confidential Tip Line at 437-3933.
