Barrington Schools Superintendent Michael Messore and Police Chief John LaCross issued a statement on Tuesday regarding the discovery of bullets on the Primrose Hill Elementary School campus last week.

“Early last Thursday morning, 6/12/14, at Primrose Hill School before children arrived, a staff member found three shotgun shells in a partially opened box in the lower level parking lot. The Barrington Police were immediately notified and responded.

“Based on a joint investigation and interviews conducted, the police believe that the box may have accidentally been dropped the night before. Investigation to this date, which is still on-going cannot link any specific threat to Primrose Hill or any other school in our district.
