A hot dog on a skewer saved Nayatt Road residents from receiving a ticket for having an outdoor fire in their backyard last week.
On Monday night, July 21, Barrington police and fire officials stopped by a Nayatt Road residence after someone called to complain about an open burning in a backyard fire pit.
The resident in question said his wife was cooking a hot dog for their daughter. Officers asked the resident to finish cooking the hot dog and then put out the fire. No ticket was issued for the open burning.
It was not the first time a neighbor had called to complain about the backyard fires.
