An Alfred Drown Road resident called police last week after someone allegedly broke into her home and stole some items from the basement.
The resident filed the report on Wednesday, Sept. 11 after it was noticed that someone had cut a screen on a basement window and entered her home. She said the thief made off with a video game console — a PlayStation 3 — four video games and a jar filled with loose change. She said the jar contained about $50.
Police also spoke with the homeowner’s son, who said he believed he knew who might have been responsible for the break-in. He gave officers the name of the possible suspect; detectives are still working on the case.
On Thursday night, Sept. 12, a Chapin Road resident called 911 after his wife spotted two teenagers trying to break into the couple’s Mercedes. The woman told police she had been sleeping the couch and awoke at about 11:30 p.m. She looked out the window and reportedly saw two youths standing next to her car.
The woman opened the door to the house and yelled out at the suspects, who fled the area on foot.
Officers arrived a few minutes later and scoured the neighborhood, but could not find the individuals.Add to favorites
