Barrington Community Theatre will host a “Whodunnit” fund-raiser next month.
The program will travel to the Wharf Tavern, in Warren, where actors will perform a murder mystery dinner. Long-time theatre staff member Kelly McCabe will direct the play, which is titled “It’s All Over but the Shooting.”
The comedic performance gives local actors the chance to work with professionals and get paid for their work instead of paying to take part in theatre. Actors ages 10-30 will take part in the show and for several, this will be their first paying gig.
All of the money raised will be used for BEST Scholarships, which help all local actors take part in Barrington Community Theatre if they cannot afford to do so. The scholarship program has awarded over $20,000 over the years.
Performances are Friday, Feb. 1 and Sunday, Feb 3 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dinner choices include sole francois, chicken marsala and thin sliced prime rib in gravy. Children can select chicken fingers and fries.
Tickets can be purchased from actors or by calling (401) 829-8635.
A special brunch performances will also be held on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Tickets are $27.50 for adults and $20 for children. Tickets include dinner (or brunch on Sunday), the show, coffee and desert. Gratuity is not included.
An extra show will be held at the Barrington Senior Center Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased though the senior center.
