The Barrington Business Association will host a harvest stroll on Saturday, Oct. 13.
The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. and will include a number of activites and attractions for the entire family. At Kids Cove Playground behind the town hall, for example, the recreation department will hold its annual pumpkin-carving and pumpkin-decorating event.
The day is also set to feature nine food trucks from around Barrington and other East Bay communities. There will also be a DJ playing music throughout the event.
The highpoint of the event might be the horse-drawn hayride. Beginning at 1 p.m., the hayride will travel from the town hall for a tour of the downtown business district. At each stop along the way, businesses will offer a variety of activities combining the day’s theme with their respective business. At Style Unleashed on Waseca Avenue, there will be a pet adoption opportunity. The Bay magazine will also be distributing free reusable shopping bags to people attending the festivities.
“I think it’s just to have something fun, maybe get people from out of town, get people downtown,” said Holly Smith, co-director of the Barrington Business Association and owner of Hollies on the Avenue.
The event is free, open to the public and will be held rain or shine.Add to favorites
