SAKONNET AREA — Agricultural producers and woodlot owners are invited to upcoming workshops to learn about funding that may be available for conservation practices.
The Rhode Island Conservation Districts have partnered with the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service to hold three workshops in December. These workshops will focus on programs designed to improve natural resource quality while enhancing agricultural and forest production.
Discussion will include forestry, agriculture, livestock and greenhouse operations and involve issues from soil erosion to irrigation and conserving open space.
The Eastern District workshop will be Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Portsmouth Free Public Library, 2658 East Main Road, Portsmouth, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
