— East Commerce Solutions, a youth baseball team comprised of players from around the area including Seekonk, recently completed its season playing in two Fall Ball leagues.

The team finished with a combined overall record of 20-5, finishing 8-3 in a Pawtucket-based competition and 12-2 in another with teams from throughout Rhode Island. The locals won the RI Fall Ball season-ending tournament, going 3-0 in the event and including a 16-0 win over North Providence in five innings via the mercy rule.

“We had the youngest team by far as most of the teams we played had a mix of kids ranging in age from 12-14. These kids put 100 percent in, going out and practicing in the cold but the effort was worth it as they played a mistake free game,” East Commerce manager Bill Davis said after the North Providence win.

The team was comprised of players from area towns, Seekonk, Attleboro, Rehoboth and one player from Bridgewater. The Pawtucket league was for players ages 12-14. The Pawtucket league had teams from Pawtucket, East Providence, Riverside, Rumford and our team from Attleboro/Seekonk. The RI Fall Ball had 22 teams from throughout the state, with the East Commerce being the only entry from Massachusetts.

“My team consisted of 12 12-year olds and one 13-year old, so they played really well especially considering this was their first time playing on the big diamond (90 feet base paths, 60’6” pitchers mound). We won by throwing strikes, playing solid defense, timely hitting and smart base running,” said Davis.

Team members included Michael Comey, PJ Elliott, Will Carter, Tanner Brakken, Nate Tellier, Justin Cote, Seekonk’s Matt Gallup and Eddy Jackson, Ryan McGahern, Matt Callahan, Dylan Prout, Tyler Davis, Mike Provazza and Sam DeChristopher.
