The Portsmouth Water and Fire District mailed its annual water district property tax bills on Friday. Oct. 21. Philip Driscoll, chairman of the Administrative Board, said that the district’s tax rate is $0.18 per thousand dollars of assessed value, an increase of $0.03 due to the revaluation of assessed property values. Tax bills are due on December 1, 2011. Interest of 1% each month will be applied to the unpaid balance for any accounts not paid by the due date. Any District property owner who has not received a water district tax bill by mid November should contact the district office at 683-2090.
