Still no power late Tuesday: Tiverton 8,100, Little Compton 2,500

TIVERTON, LITTLE COMPTON — Thousands of customers in Tiverton and Little Compton remain without power as of late Tuesday afternoon, one day after Sandy swept through the Sakonnet area. Robert Lloyd, emergency services director for Tiverton and the town’s fire chief, said at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday that 8,100 customers in Tiverton and 2,500 customers in Little Compton were currently without power.

CBS news is reporting at 2:49 p.m. that its latest figures show 114,000 Rhode Island customers are without power.
