Tiverton dug itself a deep first half hole from which it could not recover, losing to top seed East Providence 5-2 in the Division III semifinals played at Johnston High School.

The Tigers didn’t manage to put the ball into the net during the first half and Cranston East entered the break with a 4-0 lead.

Tiverton’s Zach Pacheco scored both of the Tigers’ second half goals but by then hopes of reaching the finals were out of reach.

Four different players scored for Cranston East with Kerin Murillo picking up two for the Bolts. A two-goal Cranston East burst within under four minutes late in the first half proved a backbreaker for Tiverton.

Tiverton finished its outstanding season with an overall record of 11-3-4 (10-2-4 in division). Cranston East improves to 16-2-1 overall (13-2-1 in division).

More to follow.
