Portsmouth High Drama Club to stage Moliere comedy
Production of 'Tartuffe' is dedicated to the late Hannah Wertens
PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School Drama Club will present the French comedy “Tartuffe” on Thursday to Saturday, Nov. 15 to 17, at 7 p.m.
Written by Moliere and translated into English verse by Richard Wilbur, the comedy follows Tartuffe, a seemingly pious and devout man and the havoc he wreaks on the family that takes him in. Forty actors and technicians have been working since late September to prepare the play.
Director Sheli Silveria is dedicating the play in loving memory of Hannah Wertens and her love for performing. The production is part of Charlie Silveria’s senior project at PHS.
Tickets at the door are $10 for general admission; $5 for students and seniors.
