PORTSMOUTH — Undefeated Prout showed why they’re the class of Division II girls’ lacrosse when they defeated Portsmouth High Monday night, 14-8.
The Crusaders improved their record to 7-0 in the division, while the Patriots fell to 3-3.
Prout dominated the first half of play, going up 9-2 at the break.
The Patriots made it a game in the second half, however, scoring six goals to the Crusaders’ five.
Emma Hladick was the top scorer for Portsmouth, with four goals and one assist. Allyson Armin added two goals and Ella Blackburn and Kylie Donovan each scored one.
Grace Bakum made six saves in goal.
Next up
The team will travel to Smithfield High School for a 6:30 p.m. game on Thursday, May 3. The team will host Mt. Hope on Friday, May 4, and Chariho on Monday, May 7. Both games are at 7 p.m.
