Marjorie Borden Connolly, 94, of Barrington

Marjorie Borden (Glines) Connolly, 94, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 at Heatherwood Nursing Home in Newport.  She was the wife of the late Walter A. Connolly, II.  

Born Dec. 4, 1922, in Quincy, Mass., she was the only child of Helen (Borden) and Ralph Bryant Glines. A resident of Barrington for many years, she also lived in Little Compton and Portsmouth.

She leaves a son Walter A. Connolly III (Sarah); daughter Christine MacDonald (Steven Fielding); two grandsons, Ian MacDonald (Tracy Harper) and Benjamin MacDonald; three granddaughters, Chelsie, Faith and Olivia Connolly and a great-grandson, Atticus MacDonald. A graveside service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Newport Art Museum, 76 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI 02840. A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
