Lois B. Almy, 101, of Tiverton, formerly of Little Compton, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay. She was the daughter of the late Philip W. Almy Sr. and the late Grace (Bourne) Almy.
Ms. Almy was born in Providence and had resided in Little Compton until recently relocating to Tiverton. Prior to her retirement in 1975, she worked as a school teacher for the Tiverton School Department for six years and for the Little Compton School Department for 30 years. She was a member of the Little Compton United Congregational Church, Little Compton and the RI Retired Teachers Association. Ms. Almy was the recipient of the Boston Post Cane for being the oldest resident of Little Compton.
Survivors include her niece, Marcia L. Pratt of Little Compton; her nephew, Charles B. Almy Jr. of Randolph; along with several great, great great and great great great nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Philip W. Almy and Charles B. Almy.
A memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, November 10, at the Little Compton United Congregational Church, Little Compton at 11 a.m.
Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Little Compton Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 552, Little Compton, RI 02837.
