As a candidate for Little Compton Town Council, I join four capable town residents on the first five-person Democratic slate to challenge for these positions since 2002. Four of our five Republican opponents have served continuously on the Council since 2004. Over the course of six elections, only six Democratic and independent candidates in total have challenged these incumbents.
For the civic health of the community, I believe that town voters should have meaningful choices for these important positions – choices that reflect the diversity of opinions, backgrounds, and skills represented in Little Compton. With my fellow candidates, I hope to bring fresh perspectives to town government, encompassing fair treatment for all, respect for the town’s heritage, protection of natural resources, and efficient management of town operations. The goal is to preserve the community attributes Little Compton residents cherish, while preparing the town for the intensifying challenges of the future.
