TIVERTON, RI NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS – JANUARY 28, 2013 AMENDMENTS TO

CODE OF ORDINANCES, FEES AND FINES RESOLUTION, AND “PAY AS YOU THROW” WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM REGULATIONS

Notice is hereby given that Public Hearings on proposed amendment to the Town’s Code of Ordinances, Resolutions and Regulations, are scheduled for a Tiverton Town Council meeting to be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Tiverton Town Hall, 343 Highland Road, Tiverton, RI.

Code of Ordinances – Chapter 14 – BOATS AND WATERWAYS: These amendments will revise several parts of Chapter 14 to bring the Code into conformance with the Harbor Management Plan required by RI CRMC. The amendments include changes to Sections 14-26, 14- 42, 14-46 (new), 14-62, 14-63, 14-107, 14-115, 14-117 (new), 14-118 (new), 14-192, 14-193, 14-195, and 14-200 (new).

Code of Ordinances – Chapter 78 – TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES:

Theses amendments will revise parts of Chapter 78, including changes to Article II – OPERATION, Section 78-37 – Stop streets (des- ignating locations of stop signs); and to Article III – STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING, Sections 78-62 through 78-100 (desig- nating no-parking areas and regulating the hours and duration of per- mitted parking).

Fees and Fines Resolution: These amendments, pursuant to Code of Ordinances Section 2-1. – Fees and fines, will change several of the fees charged by the Town and fines imposed pursuant to the Code of Ordinances.

Pay As You Throw” Waste Collection Program Regulations And Procedures, As Adopted by the Town Council October 25, 2010: This amendment will revise Section 4.5 of the Regulations to allow the Director of Public Works to designate specific holiday periods when certain requirements, such as the use of only authorized waste dis- posal bags, may be suspended.

Anyone wishing to be heard on these amendments should be present at the aforementioned date and time. The proposed revisions may be altered or further amended prior to the close of the public hearing with- out further advertising as a result of further study or because of views expressed at the public hearing. Any alteration or amendment must be presented for comment at the public hearing. Amendments take effect upon passage.

A copy of the amendments are available for public examination in the office of the Town Clerk between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and at the Essex Library during normal library business hours. The Town Hall and Essex Library are handicapped accessible. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must contact the Office of the Town Clerk at 625-6703 at least three business days prior to the hearing date.
