NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS – MARCH 25, 2013
AMENDMENTS TO CODE OF ORDINANCES, FEES FOR FIRE PREVENTION INSPECTIONS And DOGS AT LARGE
Notice is hereby given that Public Hearings on proposed amendments to the Town’s Code of Ordinances are scheduled for a Tiverton Town Council meeting to be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Tiverton Town Hall, 343 Highland Road, Tiverton, RI.
Code of Ordinances – Chapter 10 – Animals: These amendments will revise Section 10-33 to clarify the status of dogs roaming at large, and to provide a fee for the cost of boarding any dog impounded by the Town.
Code of Ordinances – Chapter 42 – Fire Prevention and Protection: These amendments will add a new Section 42-2 to provide for the collection of fees for certain fire safety inspections and re-inspections, as provided for in the Rhode Island General Laws.
Anyone wishing to be heard on these amendments should be present at the aforementioned date and time. The proposed revisions may be altered or further amended prior to the close of the public hearing without further advertising as a result of further study or because of views expressed at the public hearing. Any alteration or amendment must be presented for comment at the public hearing. Amendments take effect upon passage.
A copy of the amendments are available for public examination in the office of the Town Clerk between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and at the Essex Library during normal library business hours. The Town Hall and Essex Library are handicapped accessible. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must contact the Office of the Town Clerk at 625-6703 at least three business days prior to the hearing date.
