TempleCon 2012, the seventh annual New England retro-futurist science fiction and hobby gaming convention returns hosting a variety of casual and competitive games and science-fiction themed events. TempleCon attracts national and international attendees, including top competitive hobby gamers, artists, writers and performers in a non-stop weekend of music, retro-futurist science-fiction themed live performances, table-top hobby games featuring handmade terrain dioramas, hobby game tournaments, panel discussions, workshops, costuming, contests and demonstrations, and a variety of dealers. Guests are Dr. Grymm, curator of the annual international art exhibit “The Steampunk Bizarre”; CJ Henderson, author of the Teddy London supernatural detective series and the Jack Hagee PI series; Leanna Renee Hieber, author of “Dark Nest" and “The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker”; and writer Ay-Leen the Peacemaker, writer Margaret Killjoy of Steampunk magazine, The Wandering Legion of the Thomas Tew, Emperor Justinian Stanislaus of the Red Fork Empire, literary and artistic collective the Catastrophone Orchestra, vaudevillians The Boston Sprockettes and more. Also a retro-futurist fashion show, juried “Apocalypse!” art exhibition and performances by Niki Luparelli and the Gold Diggers, Psyche Corporation, Eli August, Lunares, Muse en Lystrala, Hemlok, Tempest, Samara, Ameena, Troupe Moirae, Lilly Bordeaux, Jeffrey Fong, Matkaare, Casey Lumb, Anansi, and the RKO Army. The gala “Ball at the End of the World,” with DJ ZNUH and DJ Black/Mail, features a performance by Frenchy and the Punk.
