Bike path gets tuned up for summer

The East Providence Police Department along with the United States Coast Guard and Save the Bay came together with other volunteers Saturday to clean up the East Bay Bike Path and Watchemoket Cove on Saturday. The group met at the East Providence Senior Center and then head over to the second over-look parking lot of the bike path on Veteran's Memorial Parkway. Wearing sturdy shoes and dressed for the inclement weather, the group hauled trash from the area all morning and into the afternoon while another group, the city's republican Committee, held a similar clean-up down the shoreline at Sabin Point.
