EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence High School baseball team is off to a 3-4 start to its 2016 Division I-B season, including a 5-2 victory over Barrington earlier this week.

East Providence Post and eastbayri.com staff photographer recently took in the action as the Townies faced both Barrington and East Greenwich. His gallery of photos is included here.

The Townies are back in action Thursday afternoon, April 28, when they host St. Raphael at Pierce Field in a non-league game at 3:30. E.P. returns to Division I-B play Saturday morning, April 30, when they travel to Warwick's Mickey Stevens Complex to face Toll Gate at 11 o'clock.

The Townies defeated Toll Gate, 3-1, to open their league slate back on April 9. E.P. lost its next two I-B games, 5-1 to North Kingstown and 7-2 to South Kingstown, before beating E.G., 5-4. The Townies then fell to Moses Brown by the same score and dropped a 5-3 decision to Cumberland before beating the neighboring Eagles on Monday, April 25.
