Riverside advances to face Rumford for 9-10 Minor Baseball title

WARREN — Teams from the Warren and Riverside Little Leagues met Monday night, July 23, in the losers' bracket final of the Ron Silva-District 2 Minor Baseball All-Star tournament, a game won by Riverside, 10-1.
Riverside emerged from the losers’ bracket with a pair of wins over the last week including a 5-1 over Darlington.
Two East Providence teams will play for the title. Rumford earned a spot in the 9-10 Minor Baseball tourney finals with three wins, including a narrow 6-5 victory over Warren in extra innings.
Rumford will host Riverside at the Rock Complex Saturday, July 28, at 5:45 p.m. If Riverside were to win, it would host the deciding game for the championship Sunday, July 29, at Forbes Street also at 5:45 p.m.
District 2 tournaments are contested under a double-elimination format. Visit eteamz.com/rid2 for updated brackets.
