Four charged after late night chase through Barrington

Police still searching for one individual

A Barrington police officer on traffic post at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, spotted a vehicle that matched the description of a car stolen that night in East Providence.

The officer ordered the vehicle over to the side of the road. At first it began to pull over, but then accelerated away.

Police chased the vehicle down Route 114 South, where it careened into a center island near Route 103 and struck a guardrail.

Five people fled from the vehicle on foot. Barrington police stopped one person, and East Providence police, who had helped with the chase, located three others hiding in a wooded area nearby.

A search revealed that the people in the vehicle were allegedly in possession of stolen items, including sunglasses, a GPS unit, a purse and headphones.

Police charged Tylor J. Ryan, 22, of Chepachet; Acheal Alex Harris, 22, of Riverside; Sheyann M. Dambra, 20, of Cranston; and Jazzmin Amber Souza, 18, of East Providence with individual counts of receiving stolen goods-misdemeanor.

Police are still looking for the vehicle's driver.
