East Providence police investigate bank robbery

Incident took place Saturday, Feb. 29, at Pawtucket Credit Union

EAST PROVIDENCE — East Providence Police officers responded to Pawtucket Credit Union at 660 Warren Ave. for the report of a bank robbery on Saturday, Feb. 29, at about 9:25 a.m. When officers arrived they learned a male suspect had fled the bank on foot.

Members of the Patrol and Detective Divisions responded to the scene and gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses. Video was retrieved from inside the bank and a description was obtained from witnesses.

The male suspect passed a note to the teller which demanded cash. No weapon was shown by the suspect. The suspect took the note back from the teller. An undetermined amount of money was taken from the bank.

The suspect was described as a white male, possibly in his 40s, wearing a black hat, sunglasses, a black coat, and black gloves with a design on the back of them.
