MARION — The Seekonk High School cross country teams followed up their dual meet regular season titles with victories Saturday, Oct. 31, in the South Coast Conference Championship Meet held at Washburn Park.

The Warriors, who each finished their regular seasons with unbeaten records, won the boys’ portion of the event with 28 points and the girls’ with 22 points.

As they’ve done most of the season, Johnny Gregorek and Jenny Salit paced the Seekonk victories. Gregorek won the boys’ race in a time of 15 minutes, 47 seconds over the 3.1-mile Washburn layout. Salit was the girls’ winner over the same distance 19:33.

Dighton-Rehoboth was the boys’ runner-up with 60 points. Old Rochester placed second in the girls’ meet with 51 points.

Salit led a 1-2-3 Seekonk finish at the top of the girls' results as Emily Gagliardi followed in a of 20:30 and Victoria Belcher with a 20:46. Freshman Alyssa Taylor was the fourth scorer for the Warriors, running sixth overall in 22:05. Julia Spencer rounded out the Seekonk top five in 10th in 22:45.

The Warriors weren’t quite as dominant in the boys’ race as Nathan Larrimer placed third overall in 16:53. Cody Archambault led the next group of Seekonk finishers, a 7-8-9 run, with a time of 17:16. Ryan Brown clocked a 19:19 and Kenny Cabral a 17:28.

Seekonk returns to action for the Mass. Track Coaches Invitational Meet Saturday, Nov. 7, in Wrentham. The Warriors then take part in the Eastern Massachusetts Championship Meet, Nov. 14, at Franklin Park in Boston.
