Enjoyed dancing and playing bridge
Lucille “Lucy” R. Roehr, 90, of Lantern Lane, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009. She was the wife of the late Louis J. Roehr.
Born in Lincoln, Neb., a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (VanDyk) Schellenberg, sister of the late Ruth Hope and the late Melvin Schellenberg.
She grew up and lived in Colorado Springs, Colo. before moving to Barrington 62 years ago. Lucy was an active member of the Barrington Congregational Church and a member of the Barrington Jr. Women’s and Garden Clubs.
She also enjoyed dancing and playing bridge.
She leaves a son, Robert J. Roehr of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Dolores “DeDee” Sweeney and her husband Thomas of Barrington; 2 grandchildren, Donna Personeus and her husband Neal of Barrington, Brian Sweeney and his wife Lynn Kammann of Woodinville, Wash.; and 6 great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Wolfgang Personeus, AnnaLynn, Taryn, Catherine and William Sweeney.
Her memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 30 at 2:30 p.m. in the Barrington Congregational Church, 461 County Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the endowment fund of the Barrington Congregational Church would be appreciated.
