H1N1 Information
H1N1 vaccination clinics start next week
Article Tools

The Rhode Island Department of Health has scheduled school-based H1N1 vaccination clinics over a 28-day period starting this week.

The order of schools was chosen randomly by computer and is fixed, but the dates are subject to vaccine availability and may change slightly. For more information, visit www.health.ri.gov. We have also collected resources and links for more information on H1N1 and seasonal flu.

(As of press time, no school-based clinics had been scheduled for the Massachusetts towns of Westport and Seekonk. Public H1N1 clinics will probably begin in December, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.)

What a shame that some schools will have the vaccine next week and other schools have to wait at least another 6 or 7 weeks, while in the meantime tons of kids are calling in sick every day. It really is sad that they can't get the vaccine here more quickly.

I agree with you 100% on this the dates are so wide spread that I am afraid by time they get to Dec. more children will be expose to this flu strain. It a very scary thought.

It is a shame and wrong that this cannot be done in a more exspediant way. The death of the child in porstmouth is proof enough and my sympathies go out to the family. I see no reason for this delay as I seem to remember the government saying they will have no shortages a few months ago since adults do not need the 2 shots only the hight risk groups doesn't make sense to me either.

What is this bologna, our lovely government controlling the population, I mean really, if the governor's child was in a school, or town where another child passed away from this flu, he would have him/her vaccinated that same day, never mind this waiting BS, why? This is an extremely serious state of emergency, they need to hurry their little butts up and ship those vaccines over, for everyone, not only the school children. What do they plan on doing, vaccinating the kids, and letting their parents fall ill? Right? Whoever is in charge of administering them is totally unorganized and they need to find another profession!

I'm wondering when someone is going to blame Paul Doughty for causing the swine flu outbreak.

A great initiative to save the wild life.
