Fire tears through Portsmouth family home

Firefighters from at least four towns poured into the Common Fence Point area of Portsmouth Saturday afternoon to control a fire that tore through a two-story,  single-family home at around 3:30 p.m. According to witnesses, the fire erupted and spread quickly inside the home at 2 Summit Road. Suspect in Roger Williams University threat surrenders

The man who police suspect of sending threatening e-mails to Roger Williams University has surrendered and is in police custody. Hours after police located the suspect, Kevin Pacheco, 36,  inside his Richard Street home in South Dartmouth, Mass., police had the electricity to the house shut off as darkness fell. Barrington firefighters called to house fire

The Barrington Fire Department was busy battling a house fire at 20 Bullock Ave. on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 16. The fire was called in at about noon, and appeared to have started in a bedroom. By 12:45, police officers who responded earlier to the scene for a 911 hangup call had knocked down the blaze.
