      BayCoast Bank and Westport Business to Business will host a business networking event

       

      WESTPORT, MA… BayCoast Bank and Westport Business to Business will hold a business networking reception on Wednesday, September 26.  The event will be held at BayCoast Bank’s recently opened Westport branch.

       

      The reception will provide local business and other members of the community an opportunity to form connections and exchange ideas in an informal setting.

       

      This September 26 event will begin at 5pm and is expected to last until 7pm.     1. ART Night @ Catch the trolley from one of 20 stops in Warren and Bristol

      This month’s ART Night spotlights local artists Stephan Brigidi and Tom Culora. Ride the free trolley, visit more than 20 galleries and take a rare peek inside artists’ studios to see how creative works come to life. ART Night is a partnership between the Warren Arts Initiative and Bristol Independent Galleries and runs on the last Thursday of every month from March through November.

      Bradley Hospital hosts this seventh annual event designed to aid families of children with special needs. Representatives from more than 50 statewide mental health advocacy, support and information organizations will be on hand to offer details about services and resources available for parents, families, teachers, and children and adolescents with special health needs, including mental health, learning, medical and cognitive challenges. Pre-registration is requested.

    4. Comedy Night Fund-Raiser @ Comedy Connection

      The National Federation of the Blind of Rhode Island, centered in Bristol, hosts this 18-and-over event featuring John Perrotta and two guest comedians. Proceeds will be used to establish a scholarship fund for blind students in Rhode Island and to support continuous advocacy efforts on the local and national level.

    1. Light and Shadow at Portsmouth Arts Guild, through October 14 @ Portsmouth Arts Guild

      The Portsmouth Arts Guild’s current exhibition entitled Light & Shadow is open for viewing now through October 14. There is still time to stop by the gallery during our open hours, Friday-Sunday from 1-5pm, to see this exciting exhibition of work by local artists.

             Light & Shadow’s opening reception, held on September 14, was a well-attended, festive event celebrating the award winners.  First Prize was awarded to Jamestown photographer Eileen McCarney Muldoon for her photograph entitled, NYC at Dawn.  Second Prize went to Barrington photographer, Leonard Rumpler’s Shadow #2, and Third Prize went to Portsmouth artist Libby Manchester Gilpatric for her oil painting, Kendra’s View. Honorable mentions went to artists Susan Cabral, Anne Ewing, J.R. Lynch, P. Jane Renwick and Cathy Horovitz Wilson.

      The Guild’s next exhibition, the Members Juried Show, will open October 19 with our Opening Reception that evening from 6-8pm.  This event is free and open to the public.

      The Portsmouth Arts Guild offers high quality, inexpensive artwork produced by local artists—timeless objects that can be enjoyed for generations.  Our walls, browse bins and notecard rack offer pieces of artwork at every price range. We are located at 2679 E.     2. Evening of Singers-Songwriters @ Sandywoods Center for the Arts

      This fund-raising event will feature Christopher and Gary Farias joined by Justin Marra and Ryan Connearney for an evening of music and community building. It will benefit a new community action group called Tiverton First, a non-partisan, grassroots community organization open to all who support preserving that town’s quality of life.
