    1. Earth Day Celebration @ The Children's Workshop
      4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
      Join us for a celebration of Mother Earth! Wear some green to show your support. Enjoy some fun recycling and green activities. Your child can plant their own seeds and learn about the importance of tree sections from roots to leaves, the benefit of trees to ecosystems, and how people and wildlife depend on trees. The Children’s Workshop was awarded trees by the National Wildlife Federation as part of their Branching Out for Wildlife program in honor of National Wildlife Week. The play answers the question of what happens when Muppets grow up still searching for direction and love in their lives? Described as the Sesame Street for grown-ups, this show contains adult content for mature audiences.

    2. Parenting Support Group @ St. Michaels Church
      6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

      The Parenting Support Group will meet on Sunday, April 21st at 6:00 PM in the Tildsley building at St. Michael’s Church, 399 Hope Street.  This is an opportunity for parents of preschool and school-age children to discuss with other parents and a trained mental health professional the everyday challenges they encounter in raising children today.  These might include helping to build self-esteem in children, talking about feelings, behavior issues, the special needs child and any other topic of interests to parents.  The group is open to all parents, single and partnered, traditional and non-traditional, and parents in blended families.  There is no charge for the group but participants are encouraged to bring a donation of non-perishable food or personal care items for the Bristol Good Neighbors pantry.  Childcare is available, but parents planning to bring children, must call Jennifer DeWolf (401)935-3359 by Friday April 19 to let her know how many children will be attending and their ages.

      ALTA LUNA GALLERY presents ”The ART of Pastel Painting with Jay Egge” from 6pm-9pm, an ART NIGHT Event!
      Join us from 6-9pm for this fun and informative LIVE Artist demonstration and discussion!  Topics covered: the various supports types, including paper, suede, and sand surfaces; mounting supports, techniques and tools; mediums, such as soft, semi-soft, pencil, and pan pastels; under painting, drawing, and transfer techniques; and other pastel applications, such as working from dark to light, with reference to Egge’s work at Alta Luna Gallery.
