7th Annual Touch-A-Truck @ East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce
−
6th Annual Spring Craft Fair @ Green Valley Country Club
In the official kickoff to Roger Williams University’s celebrations of the 350th anniversary of the Charter, five members of Governor Chafee’s Rhode Island 1663 Colonial Charter Commission (Patrick Conley, Morgan Grefe, Stanley Lemons, David Logan and Ray Rickman) will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Scott MacKay, political analyst for Rhode Island Public Radio.
Bringing their unique perspectives to the discussion of the document, each panelist will talk about the quest undertaken by Roger Williams and John Clarke as they sought to secure this charter from King Charles II – a document with significant influence on other colonial charters and on the very constitution of the United States.
The event is free and open to the public; no tickets are required. It will be held in RWU’s Global Heritage Hall Building, Room G01, from 3 to 5 p.m.
