Pick out your freshly cut Christmas tree, grown locally on from a Rhode Island tree farm. After browsing, have your child’s picture taken with Santa to be posted in a special section of East Bay Newspapers. Seasonal crafts and activities for children will be available and food donations will be collected for the local food bank.

Event will feature a large variety of home-baked goods, a “Lottery Ticket Tree,” raffles, knitted items, clothing for 18-inch dolls, jewelry, children’s accessories, photography and many handcrafted items. A luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be Christmas gifts and other items are available at “Santa’s Store” (kids can buy gifts ranging from 50 cents to $1).

The Chace-Cory House, the early 18th century home of the Tiverton Historical Society, opens its doors to all. Enjoy a cup of cider, the warm keeping room fire, and pleasant company as you visit the Colonial-era house and shop for Tiverton-themed holiday gifts and goodies.
The Westport Art Group (WAG) holds its Holiday Fair featuring fine arts and crafts by WAG members and local craftspeople, a silent auction, holiday greens for sale and a brown bag raffle. Proceeds support the WAG scholarship fund, which benefits graduating high school seniors who are going on to study art.
This month-long celebration of the holiday season kicks off with a proclamation from the mayor, a tree-lighting, Newport Artillery cannon salute and live entertainment.
