Rose (Ventura) Nunes, 95, passed away peacefully in her home with grace on Nov. 19, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Nunes.

Born on April 20, 1923, in Bristol, R.I., she was a daughter of the late Manuel J. and Maria (Carvalho) Ventura.
A lifelong resident of Bristol, Rose was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister of St. Mary of the Bay Parish, and was devoted to her faith and family. A soft spoken and gentle woman, she was strong, caring, selfless and the center of our family love. Her unconditional love, faith and hope are her legacy. She was a skilled gardener, an avid reader and a true listener.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Borges and her husband Bruce, and Virginia Drought and her husband Robert; sons, Manuel Nunes II and his wife Dorothy, and Peter Nunes; 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Joseph, John and Manuel Ventura, Mary Couto and Mary Lawrence.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at 9 a.m., from the WILBUR-ROMANO Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren, followed by her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main St., Warren. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Warren.

Visiting hours are Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Contributions may be made in her honor to Dominican Sisters of Hope, Donation and Prayer Center, PO Box 5005 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5005. For tributes and directions, www.wilbur-romano.com.
