Letter: Library trustees are thankful for community support

Posted

On behalf of the trustees of the Rogers Free Library, I want to thank the members of the community who participated in our recent strategic planning process. A total of 102 people took part in focus groups and meetings, and 616 respondents completed the opinion survey.

Please know that we listened to what you had to say, and will be working diligently to implement many of those findings.

The planning process was directed by a steering committee composed of trustees, Friends directors, and the library director and assistant director. Community input was overseen by a Community Advisory Committee that consisted of community leaders.

Thank you to Robert Arsenault, Michael Byrnes, Linda Arruda, Dick Devault, David Harrington, Jeff Hirsch, Jane Lavender, Tony Morettini, Nina Murphy, Keith Swist and Ed Tanner for serving so effectively on that committee. The Strategic Plan has been approved for 2018-2022 by the trustees and will be shared with the Bristol Town Council at its meeting on Nov. 8. After that, it will be posted on the library website and available in brochure format at the library.

Implementation will be a process, and we welcome your continued input. The Rogers Free Library has been a part of the Bristol community since 1877, and we look forward to a solid future of serving community needs.
