Mr. Kenneth Morris, age 94, of Market Street, Swansea, Mass., died Saturday, June 9, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Tamburro) Morris, his wife of 71 years who preceded him in death in Feb. 2016.
Born in Swansea, Mass., and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Louis and Josephine (Barcellos) Morris. Mr. Morris, a carpenter, co-owned and operated the former Professional Builders Company and K & A Realty Company for many years. He previously was a co-owner of Clean Enterprises — the Bristol and Warren car washes — for a number of years.
He was a communicant of St. Dominic’s Church in Swansea, and was a founding, charter and life member of the Swansea Fire Department – Swansea Co. 4.
Kenneth will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, for everyone he met. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah A. Chirnside (Jeffrey) and Donna Flannery (Jay), both of Bristol; two granddaughters, Sarah Overy (Nick) and Kayla Chirnside, both of Bristol, and two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Emma Overy. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Morris and Louis Morris, Jr.
Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood S., Bristol, are Friday, June 15, 2018, at 9:30 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11: a.m. in St. Dominic’s Church, 1277 G.A.R. Highway (Route 6), Swansea, Mass. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hortonville Road, Swansea.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, June 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or online at www.stjude.org/memorial.
