Humberto Melo Pacheco, 83, of Bristol

Humberto Melo Pacheco, 83, of Monroe Avenue passed away on April 11, 2019, at home. He was the husband of Maria (Ramos) Pacheco.   

Born in Fenais da Ajuda, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose Raposo and Rosalina (Melo) Pacheco. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Joseph Pacheco of Warren, Francis Pacheco and his wife Darcy of Sacramento, Calif., James Pacheco and his partner Sandra of St. Cloud, Fla., Ann Marie Withers and her husband Peter of Warren, Lisa Kaiser and her husband Shawn of Swansea, Mass., and grandchildren Samuel Pacheco, Christina Pacheco, Adam Pacheco, Madison Withers, Sarah Withers and Sydney Withers.

He was the father of the late David Pacheco and brother of the late Jose Pacheco, Francisco Raposo and Hermano Mello.

Mr. Pacheco was educated in Portugal and a dairy farmer for 42 years before retiring.

His funeral services were held April 16 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Marinaldo Batista at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Christina Pacheco and Madison Withers. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Sarah Withers, and the offertory gifts were presented by Samuel Pacheco, Adam Pacheco and Sydney Withers.

Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Shawn Kaiser, Peter Withers, Paul Ramos, Adam Pacheco, Freddie Ramos, Ozzy Raposo, Paul Pacheco and Samuel Pacheco.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol RI 02809 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942
