Frank “Sandy” Souza, Jr., 86, of Bristol

Frank “Sandy” Souza, Jr., 86, of Fatima Drive passed away on April 16, 2018, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Genevieve (Silva) Souza, his best friend, who he was married to for 63 years.  

Born in Rehoboth, he was the son of the late Frank and Jenny (Borges) Souza. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Robert Souza and his wife Michelle of Rehoboth, Ronald Souza and his wife Donna of Bristol, Lisa Fisher and her husband Paul of Portsmouth, Steven Souza and his wife Lori of East Providence; grandchildren, Tammie Luther, Ryan Souza, Nichole Ramsey, Jared Souza, Brittney Fisher, Jacob Fisher, Zachary Souza, Hailey Souza and Cameron Souza; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Luther and Tristan Abbott.

He also leaves behind his brother, Richard Souza and his wife Lucille of North Providence, and was brother of the late Raymond Souza.

Mr. Souza attended school in Barrington and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Local 57 Operating Engineers for 30 years before retiring. He was past Mordomo of The Holy Ghost Brotherhood of Rehoboth as well as past Mordormo of the Holy Ghost Committee of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.  He was a current parishioner and Head Usher at St. Elizabeth’s Church of Bristol.

His funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, at 10 a.m. from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
