The East Bay Co-op girls ice hockey team skated to a 2-0 win over the Mount St. Charles Co-op team on Saturday night, Dec. 22, and defeated the Cranston Co-op team 7-3 on Friday night, Dec. 21.

Against the Mounties, East Bay's Maddie Cox and Katherine Barker each scored goals while Maeve Harrington and Rose Flaherty finished the game with assists.

East Bay Coach Michael Cox awarded Elle Kopecky the "Player of the Game" award for an outstanding effort in net.

Eagles defeat Cranston 7-3

Barker led East Bay's offensive attack in the win over Cranston, scoring four goals. Harrington, Cox, and Taylor Defreitas also scored for the Eagles. Flaherty finished the game with four assists, and Harrington had three assists, while Cox had two assists and Ella Hanley also notched an assist.

Kopecky played well in net for East Bay — she saw 17 shots and made 16 saves. Zoe Despines also saw time in net for the Eagles, and finished the game with two saves on four shots.

Coach Cox also praised the effort of Marissa Levreault. He said she had a break-out game while playing wing and defense, and hit the post during a shot on a break-away.

Kristine Krushnowski earned the "Player of the Game" award. Krushnowski is brand new to ice hockey — she was on ice skates for the first time three weeks ago and logged 15 minutes of play against Cranston.
