Bristol Police: Loud music, unruly grandchildren and a stolen Christmas tree

Bristol Police made a few arrests and dealt with the usual array of noisy neighbors, suspicious characters and a Christmas tree swiped from someone's home. See the report of incidents from  Dec. 17 to 22.

Monday, Dec. 17

  • A Hope Street resident called police because her husband had not returned home from the gym at 4:58 p.m. He returned a short time later.
  • A caller from the Herreshoff Marine Museum reported a larceny.
  • A Sousa Street caller reported a truck parked out front with music playing at 9:24 p.m. A patrolman responded but heard no noise.

Tuesday, Dec. 18

  • At 12:41 a.m., a Narrows Road resident called and told police she saw someone looking in her window. Officers responded and found no one.
  • At 3:42 a.m., a caller from Fort Hill Road said he saw a spark from power lines. Officers responded and found nothing out of the ordinary.
  • At 5:31 a.m., a patrolman reported seeing an occasional spark coming from the top of a pole on Gooding Avenue.
  • A Dartmouth Street resident complained of illegal dumping at 3:07 p.m.
  • John J. Pasqual, 60, of 66 Catherine St., Bristol, was charged with duty to stop-accident resulting, with damage to another vehicle.
  • Officers responded to Hopeworth Avenue for a reported disturbance at 8:02 p.m. They called for rescue and one person was transported to Newport Hospital.

Wednesday, Dec. 19

  • A Richmond Street resident called at 4:54 a.m. to complain about construction equipment that had been running all night. It turned out to be a pump connected to a Charles Street construction project.
  • At 7:21 a.m., officers executed a warrant and arrested William K. Duckworth, 43, of 55 Fales Road, and charged him with conspiracy to place explosive devices and placing explosive devices. At 3:09 p.m, officer executed a second warrant and arrested Nathan Andrade, 26, of 427 High St. and also charged him with conspiracy to place explosive devices and placing explosive devices (see separate story).
  • Officers were called to investigate a suspicious man on Wapping Drive at 4:02 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 20

  • At 8:52 a.m., someone called to report graffiti at Colt School.
  • Ethan Tucker, 43, of 231 Wood St., Bristol, was arrested at the Mint Gallery on Hope Street and charged with one count of issuing a fraudulent check over $1,500, and two counts of issuing fraudulent checks under $1,500 (see separate story).
  • At 2:41 p.m., a patrolman stopped and warned a motorist in a black convertible who was reportedly racing up and down Ballou Boulevard.
  • An unwanted person was removed from a Bourne Street residence at 3:03 p.m.
  • A Franklin Street resident complained of loud music at 10:16 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 21

  • An officer dispersed someone in a vehicle from the Mt. Hope Avenue area at 2:52 a.m.
  • Someone reported a utility pole swaying in the wind on State Street at 3:49 p.m. National Grid was notified.
  • A Kingswood Road resident reported vandalism.
  • At 7:26 p.m., a Third Street caller asked police to speak to her two grandchildren, who were misbehaving.
  • Officers dispersed people from the area of Lower Ferry Road at 8:23 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 22

  • Officers dispersed a group from St. Elizabeth Street at 1:29 a.m.
  • Officers helped remove an unwanted person from a Prospect Street residence at 2:55 p.m.
  • An officer responded to King Philip Avenue after someone reported a car alarm had been going off for 30 minutes. A female caller told police she would not come out to speak with them about the alarm.
  • A Sousa Street resident reported music coming from the end of the street at 9:51 p.m. A responding officer did not hear it.

Sunday, Dec. 23

  • Officers responded to Bay View Avenue for a dispute between two sisters at 12:18 p.m.
  • A State Street caller reported a fully decorated Christmas tree and decorations stolen.
  • A caller complained of someone running heavy equipment in the area of Bay View Avenue and Buttonwood Street at 11:04 p.m.
