Bristol Police: Five arrests for domestic incidents, one for drunk driving

Bristol police officers made five arrests for domestic-related incidents, including assault and disorderly conduct, from April 8 to 14. They also arrested one person for drunk driving.

Monday, April 8

A Sherman Avenue resident filed a report about a worker who took money to install a deck and never returned.

After being called to a domestic disturbance on Thompson Avenue at 4:41 p.m., Ryan L. Sequeira, 33, of 42 Thompson Ave., was charged with domestic disorderly conduct. He appeared before a bail commissioner at the station and was released.

Tuesday, April 9

A caller complained about a dog tied up to a pole at the corner of Hope and State streets that was lunging at people as they walked by at 1:44 p.m. The dog officer was notified.

A caller reported finding bones at the Columban Fathers property. They turned out to be animal bones.

A patrolman dispersed people without incident from the Mt. Hope boat ramp area at 8:54 p.m.

Wednesday, April 10

Officers took a report of disorderly conduct at a Sunnyside Avenue residence at 2:35 p.m.

After a complainant filed a report at the station at 4:20 p.m., officers located and arrested Kenneth J. Raposo, 30, of Swansea, Mass. He was held at the station overnight, charged with violation of a no-contact order, and taken to District Court the next morning for arraignment.

A patrolman found two people sleeping in a vehicle parked at the corner of Franklin and Magnolia streets at 11:30 p.m. He transported one to a bus stop at the corner of Hope and State streets.

Thursday, April 11

An officer questioned two people at the corner of Narrows Road and Jessica Drive at 12:54 a.m., but there were no issues. They were walking home for the night.

Tyler J. Harvey, 30, of 168 Mt. Hope Ave., Apt. 1, Bristol, was taken into custody at 6:23 a.m., charged at the station with domestic assault, and later taken to District Court in Providence.

Christopher C. Brando, 41, of Providence, was arrested on a warrant at the station, charged with domestic assault (third offense) and taken to District Court for arraignment.

A patrolman dispersed two people in a car from the Mt. Hope boat ramp area at 9:20 p.m.

Friday, April 12

A caller reported seeing two women leaving a Mercedes at the intersection of Perry Street and Jones Avenue and running from the vehicle toward Wood Street at 3:11 p.m.

At 6:09 p.m., a detective on Metacom Avenue noticed a man with an active warrant out of Tiverton. Richard N. Smith, 21, of Fall River, was taken into custody on a warrant for larceny under $1,500 and tampering with a vehicle. He was held at the station and released to Tiverton Police.

A homeowner was advised to quiet things down at a Thompson Avenue residence after police received a noise complaint at 9:09 p.m.

A Sousa Street resident complained of noise at 11:16 p.m.

A caller complained about a house party on DeWolf Avenue at 11:16 p.m.

A patrolman dispersed a vehicle and its occupants from the town beach area at 11:28 p.m.

Saturday, April 13

After a traffic stop on Thames Street at 12:19 a.m., Andrew D. Medeiros, 22, of 30 Brookfarm Drive, Bristol, was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

After Ace Hardware reported a shoplifter who stole several paint brushes and fled on a bike at 2:34 p.m., an officer found the man in question near the corner of Hope Street and Orchard Avenue. The items were secured and the man was warned not to tresspass at the store again.

After a caller from Roseland Avenue told police her boyfriend was not letting her leave the residence at 3:08 p.m., officers responded and took into custody Douglas J. Craven, 32, of 10 Roseland Ave., Bristol. He was charged with domestic assault at the station, appeared before a bail commissioner, and was released.

A caller reported a motorcycle riding on the East Bay Bike Path, south of Beach Road, at 3:24 p.m. It was gone before officers arrived. Two hours later, a man riding a motorcycle on the path was stopped in Warren.

A caller from Peckham Place reported a juvenile driving a motorized bike in the road at 9:54 p.m.

Roger Williams University Public Safety was called for a disturbance on Bay View Avenue at 10:04 p.m.

Sunday, April 14

At exactly midnight, a caller from Sousa Street reported that someone was revving their motorcycle engine.

An officer advised a large group of people walking home along Court Street to keep it down at 12:14 a.m.

A Sousa Street caller again reported someone revving their engine at 12:24 a.m.

Officers were called to Aidan’s Pub and Grill for a reported fight at 12:35 a.m. There were no arrests but they transported one person to Almeida Apartments and another to a bus stop.

People in two vehicles were dispersed from Mt. Hope Avenue at 1:23 a.m.
