Bristol Police: Arrests for drunk driving and sexual assault

Bristol police officers made seven arrests from Jan. 8 to Jan. 14, including two women for drunk driving and one man for second-degree sexual assault. Following is a log of Bristol Police Department activity for that week.

Monday, Jan. 8

 

  • Dorianne Opielawski, 38, of East Providence, was charged with sale or concealment of leased personal property.

 

  • Jordan Carney, 18, of Pawtucket, was charged with possession of marijuana.

Tuesday, Jan. 9

  • Officers responded to a domestic argument on Catherine Street at 12:33 p.m. There were no arrests.
  • After stopping a vehicle near the intersection of Kickemuit Avenue and Amy Drive at 8:13 p.m., officers arrested Kristen Bertenshaw, 42, of 57 Bay View Ave., Apt. 1, Bristol, and charged her with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test (second violation within a five-year period).

Wednesday, Jan. 10

 

  • A resident on Washington Street called police after a man claiming to be with National Grid asked to see the woman’s utility bill. An officer found him walking on foot and learned he was trying to sell solar panels. He was told he must register with the town in order to solicit door to door.

 

  • Someone reported people using narcotics near the corner of Bay View and Thompson avenues at 1:02 p.m. They were gone before officers arrived.

 

  • An officer dispersed kids who were throwing snowballs in the roadway near the Town Common at 4:55 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 11

  • Officers responded to remove an unwanted person from a Sachem Road residence at 8:50 a.m.
  • Officers were called to Burton Street at 6:02 p.m. for a domestic argument. There were no arrests.
  • Adam D. Loizzo, 38, of 132 Mulberry Road, Apt. 5, Bristol, was charged with Duty to Stop, accident resulting.

Friday, Jan. 12

  • Jose L. Renoso Lopez, 20, of Providence, was charged with second-degree sexual assault.
  • Officers dispersed four men from the Rock Street area at 10:17 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 13

  • An officer responded to Narrows Road for a neighbor dispute over road debris pushed into a pothole at 11:47 a.m.
  • Jennifer Murphy, 45, of 17 Mason Ave., Bristol, was charged with DUI, simple assault, driving without a license, and resisting arrest.

Sunday, Jan. 14

  • Officers made one arrest after being called to a High Street residence at 12:39 p.m. Matthew J. Livingstone, 52, of 145 High St., Bristol, was charged with domestic assault. A few hours later, officers returned to High Street and arrested Mr. Livingstone a second time and charged him with violation of a no-contact order. He was arraigned and transported to the ACI.
  • Officers intervened in a dispute between clerks at neighboring businesses in the Gooding Avenue plaza at 2:59 p.m. Peace was restored and there were no arrests.
