Richard S. Silvia, 75, of Barrington

Richard S. Silvia, 75, of Spruce Street, Barrington, died unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 3, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Charron) Silvia.

Born in Warren, a son of the late John and Rose (Carter) Silvia, he lived in Barrington for 50 years.

Mr. Silvia was a foreman for the Town of Barrington Highway Department for 32 years before retiring in 2005. He also worked at Dudek’s Bowling Lane, Warren for 67 years.

Richard was a communicant of St. Luke Church. He was a member of the Barrington Men’s Club and the Barrington Democratic Club.

Besides his wife of 54 years, he is survived by his children, Diane M. Crowell of East Providence, Joann M. Manetta of Providence, Lori A. Brindamour of Barrington and Richard S. Silvia Jr. of East Providence; a sister, Delores Goulart of Bristol, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

His funeral was held on Friday, Sept. 7, from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington. Burial followed in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington.
