A hard-hitting storm knocked down an osprey nest platform in Allin's Cove last August, but a hard-working group of volunteers repaired the stand in March, and it is now home to a large family of ospreys.
Recently, a family including two adult ospreys and four juveniles has been seen living in the nest atop the Allin's Cove platform. This is reportedly the sixth consecutive year that ospreys have successfully mated and raised chicks at this site.
Maybe even more impressive is the number of chicks that have been raised at this site over the last there years — this is the third nesting season to see four osprey chicks raised atop this platform in Allin's Cove.
Barrington residents have been closely watching the nest over the years. There is even a series of YouTube videos posted that feature the ospreys — just search "Allin's Cove Ospreys".
