Letter: Barrington residents focus on giving this holiday season

To the editor:

As we get ready to celebrate the holiday season it is important to remember those who may be going through a difficult time.

With the election season complete local neighbors have focused on giving back to our community. The Barrington Republican Town Committee will hold it’s second annual Adopt a Family event beginning Dec. 1. Tags will be available at our meeting Saturday, Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. at the Barrington Library.

The BRTC has adopted a family through the East Bay Collaborative and will provide a local family with gifts to help them during the holiday season. Giving back to those in need is what makes the holiday season so special. It may be too late to adopt a family through a local organization, but it is not too late to consider other local charities like Tap-In, Toys for Tots or volunteering at a soup kitchen.

If you would like to participate in the BRTC event please join us in December.
